TEENS, JUNIORS, and MASTERS Divisions will be scored by formula (DOTS/Age)
What does this mean?
In this meet (not all meets), lifters in age divisions will compete against lifters of all weight classes! This is already set up on our scoring program, LiftingCast. Follow that link, look under the results tab to see who you are competing against.
The DOTs formula is used to compare lifters of different weight classes so they can compete as a group. The DOTS formula levels out strength differences due to lifters body weight differences within the division. This means instead of having only one person in many different divisions we can have a group competing against each other which is more fun!
Here is link for DOTS calculator. www.liftercalc.com.
IMPORTANT for AGE Divisions: if you are in one of these age divisions, you do not need to "make weight", because you are not in a specific weight class for this meet. Whatever you weigh on meet day will be used to calculate your DOTS/Age score. Only reason to "make weight" for a specific weight class will be if you are in the OPEN division or going for a state record in that weight class. For the purpose of this competition, we do not need to know your weight in advance. ---> if you want to add the OPEN division, use athlete change form to do this!).
Teens andMasters will also use the age coefficient. The age coefficient is meant to level out strength differences due to age differences. (link to Age Coefficients HERE). To calculate your DOTS/Age score, use the DOTS calculator above and multiply by the age coefficient.
What does this scoring mean for records? - You can still break State records as long as you weigh-in in that weight class.
When the meet results are uploaded to USAPL Database, your results will show up based on your age and weight class.
For example, you are a male Masters lifter, age 56, weighing in at 109 kg. In this competition you are competing against all Masters ages 40-59 by Dots and Age formulas. LiftingCast will calculate this and you will see your ranking on the board page during the event. For purposes of records and database results, your meet results will be shown in the Male Masters 2 (50-59), 110 kg weight class.
OPEN Division
If you are in OPEN division and need to change your declared weight class, please fill out athlete change form.
Lifters in the Open (AND YOUTH) division will be scored on total in each individual weight class.
Note: If you'd like to add a division, or change from Open to Age, or Age to Open, please use our, Athlete Change Form.

TIPS FOR A GREAT MEET DAY!
REGISTRATION: You will check in at the registration table, present your Photo ID and your USA Powerlifting Card. You will get a lifter wrist band, t-shirt (if you ordered) and a slip of paper to wright your openers and rack heights on. You will take this with you to weigh-ins. (Registration begins 30 minutes prior to weigh-ins).
EQUIPMENT CHECK: After registration make your way to equipment check table. Your lifting gear (singlets, t-shirts, knee sleeves, etc) will be inspected by referees and approved prior to the start of the competition. We need to see everything you plan to wear on the platform.
RACK HEIGHTS: While waiting to weigh in, get your rack heights for both squat and bench. You will want to have this written on attempt/rack height paper. Don't forget safety height. We will have someone there to help you. We will be using an ER Rack for this competition. They are standard so if you know your rack height, you can enter it here.
WEIGH-INS: Bring your PhotoID, Openers, and Rack heights. Wear something easy to take off for weigh-ins, there are lifters waiting, so the quicker you (and your fellow competitors) can get in and out of the weigh-ins, the faster you can eat and prepare for your competition.

REVIEW THE LIFTER'S HANDBOOK !!!
Knowledge is power! Take some time to read through the USA Powerlifting Technical Rules, this only benefits you as a lifter to know what you can and can’t do!
Practice, Practice, Practice the commands for each lift! This is most common Rookie mistake. Do this with a friend or training buddy saying this out loud.
Watch the Rules Briefing Videos on this page of website!
Attempts: You will turn in your next attempt immediately following your exit from the platform. Remember, you can go up, stay the same (in the event you missed an attempt) or decline another attempt). You cannot go ‘down’ if you miss an attempt (open confident!)
Lifting: You have 60 seconds to get the Start command once the bar is loaded, be ready!
DO NOT DROP THE WEIGHT!!! This is very dangerous for the spotters and grounds for removal from the meet.
END OF MEET:
We drug test! Do not leave the meet until an announcement has been made that the athletes have been selected for testing. Failure to be present when requested will be considered a failure. If you have to leave, please check in with the meet director first.
Awards are given at the end of the day! Stick around for your individual award and the group photo at the end.
TOOLS:
*As of 6/20/22 we no longer require the head to be in contact with the bench.
